Larry Goddard

Larry Goddard is the CEO of The Parkland Group, Inc., a coaching and consulting business he founded in 1990.

Larry has focused on helping businesses improve their performance, profitability, financial strength and value for more than 30 years.

During this time, Larry has been the CEO, Interim CEO, Chief Restructuring Officer or Trustee of more than 20 middle market businesses. He has also been the Executive Coach or consultant to over 300 companies, and written 3 books on improving business performance, profitability and value.

Primary industries Larry has focused on are manufacturing, distribution, service, technology and construction.

Larry is the developer of a strategic planning process called SOAR Growth Strategies™, which allows businesses to develop and implement value enhancing strategies in a highly efficient and cost-effective manner.

From 1982 to 1990, Larry served as president and CEO of Waco International, a national manufacturer and distributor of construction equipment and supplies headquartered in Cleveland. He led Waco’s revenue growth from $3 million to more than $100 million.

Prior to joining Waco, Larry was a supervisor at Price Waterhouse in Canada and later founded Goddard Franklin Management Consultants, Inc. Born and educated in South Africa, he is a Canadian Chartered Accountant (Inactive), a Chartered Business Valuator (Inactive) and a Certified Turnaround Professional.

From 2015 to mid-2019, Larry merged the Parkland operating business into BDO USA LLP and Larry became a partner and management consulting practice leader at BDO, one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in the world. Larry returned to Parkland in July 2019 after retiring from BDO.

He serves on numerous advisory and other boards. He was a member of the board of Jumpstart, Inc. a nationally recognized venture development organization. He was a member of the board of directors, chairman of the Nominating & Governance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee of publicly traded Oglebay Norton Inc. until its sale in early 2008 and he was a member of the board and Audit Committee of publicly traded Energy Focus, Inc.

Larry is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and the Turnaround Management Association. As a recognized industry expert, he is frequently quoted in the media, including the Wall Street Journal.
